Activities at a glance

E-Bike at Sunset and Medieval Celebrations – This circular itinerary allows you to discover some of the most authentic corners of Sabina, combining a visit to the charming historic centers of Roccantica and Montasola with a ride immersed in the rural landscape of centuries-old olive groves, woods, and rolling hills. The starting point is the medieval village of Roccantica, perched on the slopes of the Sabine Mountains. Once in the saddle, we’ll immediately discover the Oratory of Santa Caterina and the Church of Piedi Rocca, two unique features in the historic center of Roccantica. Leaving the historic center, the route follows local roads and low-traffic rural tracks that cross the surrounding agricultural land. Continuing through olive groves and open views of the valley, we reach the village of Montasola, one of the most characteristic towns in Sabina. The historic center retains its original medieval layout, with narrow cobbled streets, panoramic views, and ancient stone houses that tell the story of the area’s long history. After visiting Montasola, the itinerary returns to Roccantica. Along the way, you’ll encounter several votive shrines, testaments to local popular religiosity, often located at the crossroads of ancient roads or along paths used for centuries by farmers and shepherds. These sites also include historic fountains and springs that once served as essential water supplies for local communities. These places, immersed in the tranquil Sabine countryside, offer ideal opportunities for short breaks and moments of landscape observation.
